Eye Dominance

Eye Dominance; should be checked before you even learn to shoot a pistol.

If you're struggling hitting your target or getting a good sight picture it could be your eye dominance. Just because you're right or left handed, it does not mean your eye is dominant on that side. 

There is a super simple test to find out your eye dominance.

Stretch out both of your hands and make a triangle with your thumbs and index fingers in front of you. Focus on an object about 10 to 15 feet away with the object in the center of the triangle.

Now close one eye then switch to the other eye without moving your hands. Whichever eye is open with the object in the triangle that is your dominant eye.

While switching your shooting side can be a huge challenge (I can't do anything left handed!) it could make a difference in your shooting ability, whether it be rifle, pistol or bow.

I have met some people that shoot right handed and found out they are left eye dominant. After some struggles switching over (not easy skeet shooting left hand with a semi auto!) I have personally seen improvements in their scores.Good luck!
