Blackhound Optics Genesis 1-6×24 SFP MOA
This summer I was fortunate enough to work with our friends at Blackhound Optics by testing out and reviewing one of their scopes.
Blackhound Optics is a company based out of Lawrenceville, Georgia. The company is newer but has quickly made a name for themselves in the popular, ever changing optics market. Blackhound Optics mission is to provide customers with quality optics at an affordable price. As someone who is new to the rifle hunting world and has only ever hunted waterfowl my whole life, switching to this arena has been a little bit overwhelming to say the least.
When it came to shopping for optics, one of the most difficult parts has been to find reasonable priced optics with strong structure and quality glass. But Blackhound Optics shines through with accurate and affordable optics.
I got to work with the Genesis 1-6x24 SFP MOA model, which I mounted on my newest Mossberg 6.5 Creedmoor. As someone who works in Marketing I really appreciated the impeccable packaging and the clean Blackhound logo. The optic itself was sleek and lightweight but strong and durable. Lying next to it I found everything I needed to mount and level it immediately. Unfortunately, the rings did not fit my rifle, but I was able to buy other rings for $20 that were compatible with my Blackhound Optic.
Upon testing the optic, I found myself extremely pleased with its accuracy. The optic is very precise and extremely durable. The reticle is designed to provide shooters with easy to understand, simple reticle layout. This made it much easier for a newbie like me as well!
Featuring 25 MOA per rotation, capped turrets, a simple bullet drop compensation reticle with 6-step, intermittent illumination and all the accessories you need to start shooting - the Genesis 1-6x24 SFP MOA has a lot to offer for its price! The service from the Blackhound Optics team was absolutely amazing as well! They were prompt and professional, which is something I value tremendously.
My overall feelings about this optic are positive ones. As someone who is new to hunting with optics, I was pleased with the price and the quality that came with it. The only negative was having to buy separate rings, but it was a small price to pay. I would absolutely recommend Blackhound Optics!
