Little Wooden Boat

Hi everyone! My name is Shannon and I was born and raised in a small rural South Carolina town. I grew up hunting and fishing my whole life!

One of favorite memories as a little girl was fishing with my mom and grandpa in a little wooden boat.

We would spend all day putting out set lines for big flathead catfish in the Edisto River or catching Copperhead bream in Salkehatchie Swamp. I also learned how to swim in the dark water and strong current of the Edisto. And in the Salkehatchie ..I learned that life lesson of always looking for snakes, because they are probably in every stump and every low hanging tree.

I haven't been home and fished these places for many many years but I will always cherish those memories.

Fast forward to 31 years old and I live on the coast in Charleston,SC where fishing looks alittle different. I spend all my time now fishing the salt marsh. The options for what you can catch are endless. I have caught spotted sea trout, sheephead, redfish, flounder, jack crevalle ...just to name a few.

Being on the coast, going offshore fishing is also a fun trip to make if you don't mind a lengthy boat ride. But it's worth it for the fresh Mahi Mahi. Plus you never know when you might hook into a big blue marlin for the fight of your life.

I love being able to live and fish in one of the most beautiful cities.

When I am not hunting, I spend  alot of time on the water. There is nothing like watching the sunrise while you catch bait for big bull redfish...accept maybe watching the sunset and gigging some flounder. 😊
